Recent Architectural Projects in Hamilton & Waikato
This was a unique project where The Reno Guys Limited renovated the front property and Fervour Construction Limited was able to develop the site and build a duplex extension onto this freshly renovated home.
The duplex was one of four homes Fervour Construction had underway during Covid and we are very proud of the guys efforts for pulling off this project during a very challenging time for construction in New Zealand.
This home was built at the height of Covid, a time when the challenges on site, and behind the scenes, were immense. Supply shortages, uncertainty, and constant change made this one of the most demanding projects we’ve taken on.
Now, seeing the landscaping come to life and complement this one-off build on the edge of Porongia National Park makes it all worthwhile.
The house sits on screw piles, something new for our team at the time. With tricky ground conditions, they proved to be the best solution. Once installed, progress moved quickly, bearers, subfloor, and framing followed efficiently. For a difficult site, it was a smart and effective way to get the build out of the ground.
Veronica our client, a landscape architect, brought incredible passion to the project. She carefully researched and selected products to suit her vision, from OSB flooring and Australian hardwood decking and cladding, to the tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling flowing through the open-plan living spaces not to mention the plywood linings with bold negative detail.
This was a rewarding build during a very stressful period for our team. I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved when materials were scarce and timelines were uncertain. Strategic planning made all the difference, with timber secured and stored six months in advance, we were ready when it mattered.

Our name was put forward to Shaun and Lana by Alice from Rubix Architecture based in Raglan. Shaun and Lana live very busy lives working in the Sail GP circuit. Lana travelled back to meet with Dan and a few other builders and was able to strike a chord with Dan whereby Lana and Shaun gave us an opportunity to build their home. This home has some many cool features and is completed to a very high spec. Hydronic underfloor heating, Lossnay, Gas fire, flare fire to name but a few. The site was steep and took a while to get out of the ground but as its set above an olive grove reserve that falls away in front of their view they will never be built out on. An interesting point to note, Lana and Shaun only came back to visit the project 3 times during the build and a lot of the quick communications and visuals were pretty much run on WhatsApp with photos, videos and voice message updates being sent back week to week.

Dan was contacted by Sean and Rachael to build their dream home just outside of Cambridge. We caught up on site and eyeballed the lay of the land and looked at where the house would be positioned. Sean had some contacts for the earthworks and got to work prepping the site for profiles. Sean and Rachael were very organised with their plans and design brief so were good to go. This is a large L shaped home with a generous open plan kitchen, living and dining space, huge canopy, 4 bedrooms, office, media room, laundry, 2 bathrooms, powder room. Hard landscaped with decks, paths and a pool. The pressure was on hard during this build with the challenges the industry was facing at the time but as they say pressure makes diamonds!
