Coastal Renovation

Whaanga Road, Raglan

Project description

Kaleb and Lisa approached us back in 2021 with a substantial renovation to complete. With the county in and out of lockdown and materials hard to get hold of it was decided to pause for a bit. The green light was given at the start of 2024 to get to work. To knock down and start again was simply out of the question due to the site requirements. The building site is steep.. with the toe of the mountain falling away sharply to the sea. The house is set on poles overlooking the sea, nestled in the lea of a hill which gives some great shelter from the prevailing wind. The site offers privacy and some spectacular views up the coastline as far as the eye can see. Access and shelter when taking on a challenge like this is a must. A wrapped scaffold was the only way to tackle this job and it paid dividends keeping the wheels turning giving the guys on the ground a dry sheltered work site in all conditions.

An exciting challenge for us that we really enjoyed being part of.

Look out for more photos to come.

Client Testimonial

Working with Dan and his team at The Reno Guys was an incredibly rewarding experience. Our project came with plenty of complexity, but their combined knowledge, skill, and practical approach meant we could anticipate challenges early and resolve issues smoothly as they arose.

The quality of workmanship was outstanding — not only from Dan and his team but also from the subtrades they managed, all of whom maintained consistently high standards from start to finish.

On a personal note, I have very high expectations and a sharp eye for detail, and Dan, Laurie, and the rest of the crew exceeded them at every turn. Communication was clear and consistent throughout, and the mutual respect and trust that developed over the course of the project made the whole process a pleasure.

I would highly recommend The Reno Guys to anyone looking for a highly capable, detail-focused, and genuinely professional team to bring their project to life.
