Coastal Renovation

Whaanga Road, Raglan

Project description

Kaleb and Lisa approached us back in 2021 with a substantial renovation to complete. With the county in and out of lockdown and materials hard to get hold of it was decided to pause for a bit. The green light was given at the start of 2024 to get to work. To knock down and start again was simply out of the question due to the site requirements. The building site is steep.. with the toe of the mountain falling away sharply to the sea. The house is set on poles overlooking the sea, nestled in the lea of a hill which gives some great shelter from the prevailing wind. The site offers privacy and some spectacular views up the coastline as far as the eye can see. Access and shelter when taking on a challenge like this is a must. A wrapped scaffold was the only way to tackle this job and it paid dividends keeping the wheels turning giving the guys on the ground a dry sheltered work site in all conditions. An exciting challenge for us that we really enjoyed being part of. Look out for more photos to come.
