Te Mata Hall

Project description

Team,
Team ata,
TeaMata,
Te Mata!

Just goes to show how much power a community has when it is united, working as one and pulling in the same direction.

The call to action was answered, our community rose up to the challenge and met it head on. We did battle, regardless of the weather or how tired we were because it was our civic duty to restore and maintain this precious building. I can only hope that this inspires other communities to do the same as we did.

I am so proud to have witnessed some true grit amongst all the volunteers turning up time and again.

Thank you to the team of cooks, bakers, tucker gatherers for keeping the Te Mata Hall Makeover Project machine fed and hydrated!

Huge thanks to Marcia, Greer and Tessa for allowing me the time to join in with the team to contribute my efforts on the hall these past few months.

And last but not least thank you to the Royal New Zealand Engineers (NZ Army) for getting the project out of the blocks at the start. This gave us the momentum we needed at the start of this campaign to restore our hall.

Client Testimonial

Dan Grimshaw owner of The Reno Guy’s building team took on the role as Project team leader for an upgrade of our local Te Mata Public Hall 1905. This took 12 months to achieve.

During this process Dan lead a team of local volunteers who striped, repaired, re-cladded and re-roofed this big old hall. Every detail was overseen and delivered to a very high standard which will see this hall last for another lifetime. The coordination and collaboration of this task was brilliant. Spending hours and hours for free of Dan’s own time, show’s his passion and dedication to achieve a top job delivered on time and on budget.

The community cannot thank Dan enough.
